About Me
My name is Tammy Hernandez, CPC, MSCRMHC. I am the Director and a mental health counselor specializing in autism, ADHD, twice-exceptionality (2e), and executive functioning challenges and trauma. As someone who is AuDHD and a parent and grandparent of neurodivergent family members, I bring both lived experience and clinical expertise to support individuals, couples, and families with practical, strengths-based strategies.

Key Areas of Focus in Therapy
At Beautiful Balance Counseling, we specialize in neurodivergent-affirming care. Our therapeutic approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, and related emotional and behavioral challenges.
1. Autism/ADHD/AuDHD Expertise
Our team has deep clinical and lived experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We understand the nuances of diagnosis, symptom presentation, and co-occurring conditions like anxiety and depression. Treatment is always personalized to your strengths, needs, and goals.
2. Tailored Therapeutic Approaches
Traditional therapy doesn’t always fit. We adapt our techniques to suit neurodivergent minds—using visual aids, structured routines, sensory accommodations, and clear communication strategies to create a therapy experience that works for you.
3. Executive Functioning Support
We help clients build skills in organization, time management, planning, and emotional regulation—empowering them to manage daily tasks and long-term goals with confidence.
4. Social Skills Development
Our social skills training helps individuals understand social cues, navigate communication challenges, and build meaningful connections in various settings.
5. Sensory Processing Awareness
Sensory sensitivities are common in autism and ADHD. We work with clients to identify triggers and develop coping strategies that promote comfort and emotional stability.
6. Collaboration with Support Systems
We believe therapy is most effective when it’s supported by a strong network. Our counselors and special education advocate collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure consistent, wraparound care.

Group Therapy & Social Skills Development at Beautiful Balance Counseling
At Beautiful Balance Counseling, we offer supportive and empowering group therapy programs designed to help autistic children, teens, and adults build meaningful social connections. Our groups provide a safe, structured, and sensory-aware environment where clients can practice communication, emotional regulation, and real-life social skills with peers who understand their experiences.
Each group is led by therapists trained in neurodiversity-affirming care and evidence-based practices. Sessions focus on improving confidence, strengthening problem-solving, and developing practical skills such as conversation, collaboration, self-advocacy, and navigating social situations at school, work, and in the community.
Because we believe every individual learns best when they feel understood and supported, our groups are small, personalized, and built around the unique needs of each age group. Whether a client is working on making friends, managing social anxiety, understanding social cues, or enhancing independence, our goal is to help them grow in a way that feels natural, respectful, and empowering.
